Guinevere’s Story

I have been a dental assistant for more than 25 years. I currently work chairside and as the office manager. Both are very rewarding to me!

Being DANB certified has given me both confidence and respect. I am part of a large group of people who take pride in their profession, not only on a personal level but on a national level. My employer always credits me for my accomplishments not only to myself, but to our patients. That gives me a true feeling of worth within my work place.

Patients see my credentials displayed in the office and that ensures trust and confidence they have in me. This also gives me a strong sense of pride.

Douglas’ Story

I have held DANB’s CDA certification for more than 15 years. DANB certification is a way to show my colleagues my commitment to excellence and professionalism that our profession deserves.

Dental assisting has provided me with a variety of great experiences over the course of my career. The most rewarding aspect of my job would be making patients smile by restoring their confidence and boosting their self-esteem. There is no bigger compliment than to see the smile on my patient’s face after their dental needs have been met and completed.  Secondary to that, I truly find gratification in the ability to lead and mentor my colleagues to become the best they can be.

– Douglas R., CDA

Megen’s Story

I earned DANB’s Certified Dental Assistant certification more than five years ago.

I take pride in my DANB certification! I feel it adds a great deal of credibility to my skills and knowledge. It shows the world that I take pride in my profession and my continuing education in the dental assisting field.

I enjoyed working chairside, but now I also have the privilege of being dental assisting program instructor! This role helps me to bring new generations of dental assistants into the workforce. I love to instill the love and passion I have for my profession into my students in hopes they will continue to spread their joy and positivity throughout their careers.

– Megen E., CDA

Gail’s Story

I am so very proud to say that I have been DANB certified for over 25 years. I love when my patients read my certification certificate on the wall in the operatory; they ask questions, and with pride I inform them of the steps I took to achieve this honor.

I have found that patients are much more at ease in the dental chair when they are assured that their care is in the hands of a qualified, experienced and caring individual. I am blessed to have the opportunity every day to give patients the quality care and kindness they deserve.

The advice I would give to new staff members is to please continue your education even after graduation and to take the necessary steps to become DANB certified. You will never regret doing so.
– Gail W., CDA

Laura’s Story

I  have been a dental assistant for more than 30 years. I am so proud of my credentials. My boss even has all my certificates hanging in the waiting room for everyone to see.

Earning DANB certification was the best thing I ever did.  In addition to providing me with a stronger academic knowledge, it strengthened me as an assistant and took the passion I already had for dentistry to a whole new level. It is the best feeling in the world that my patients have confidence in me — DANB gave that confidence to me.

I would love to encourage all assistants to at least earn CDA certification, if not more! Education and knowledge is power. When you feel good about yourself and the job that you are doing, it will spill over to other areas in your life too.
